The City Commission of the City of Kissimmee on final reading approved Ordinance 3,114, rezoning property on Grissom Lane from T5U (mixed-use corridor) to Industrial Business.
Douglas Sethers, with the City of Kissimmee Development Services Department, told commissioners the request was city-initiated to make the zoning consistent with an existing plat for the property and neighboring parcels. “Staff recommends approval,” Sethers said, and the plan advisory board had likewise recommended the change.
There was no public comment on the item. Commissioner Alvarez moved to approve the ordinance; the motion was seconded and carried on roll call. The vote was recorded as Aye by Commissioner Eadie, Commissioner Alvarez, Commissioner Martinez, Commissioner Ortiz and Mayor Espinosa, yielding a 5–0 approval.
The ordinance replaces the prior zoning designation on the identified parcel with Industrial Business to align zoning with the recorded plat and staff findings that the change is consistent with the comprehensive plan and the Land Development Code. No amendments to the ordinance were recorded during the hearing.
The commission did not receive public testimony on the rezoning at the hearing and no follow-up directions to staff were made beyond adoption.
