Moore council authorizes negotiation with TAP RDG to design new public safety facility

The City Council on March 3 authorized the city manager to negotiate a contract with TAP and RDG (presented as TAP RDG) to design a new public safety facility for the city’s police and fire departments.
Staff told the council that a committee interviewed finalists and recommended TAP RDG as the design firm. Staff requested approval to begin contract negotiations, after which the design team will start initial design phases. On the council record one member said the project is “exciting” and that the design phase will begin once a contract is secured; staff also noted the project will be presented to voters at a later date.
Councilmembers voted to authorize the city manager to negotiate the contract; the motion passed with yes votes recorded from Rob Clark, Kathy Griffiths, Sid Porter, Melissa Hunt, Louie Williams, Adam Webb and Mark Ham.
No dollar figure for the contract was presented at the meeting and council discussion focused on the recommendation from the selection committee and the start of design work once negotiations conclude.
