On the record the mayor and other councilmembers lauded the grant. The mayor said, “That’s, you know, $305,000 for one piece of equipment. Yes. It's very expensive to run a city. So good job on the grant.” Councilmembers then voted and the motion passed with yes votes recorded from Adam Webb, Rob Clark, Kathy Griffiths, Sid Porter, Melissa Hunt, Louie Williams and Mark Ham.
The staff presentation described the purchase as part of capital planning and resiliency; no model number for the new truck was specified in the presentation and operational details for replacement were not provided beyond the scrapping requirement. The council approved the agreement and authorized the city to accept the grant and proceed with the procurement.
