City administration told the Collegedale City Commission on Jan. 6 that January’s principal work will be preparation for the city’s budget workshop and a separate special-called meeting to start work on a strategic plan.
At the meeting the city administrator (unnamed in the record) said staff is setting the preliminary budget and goals for review at the January workshop and arranging a special-call session to begin strategic-plan work. The administrator said staff would coordinate inclement-weather decisions later in the week: "Chris and I will get together, Wednesday afternoon, Thursday morning to figure out what the best forecast is at that point, who we'll need in, who's gonna be on call, are we going to need to put anybody up, what are we doing in terms of SALT versus Bridal, etcetera." No firm personnel or lodging decisions were reported at the meeting.
Other administrative items included a library update: Regina Mullins, the library director, arranged for the library’s contractor to present an overview of services at the January workshop; the library board was scheduled to meet at 7:00 the following day. Commissioners also asked about livestream archives after the city moved to a new livestream service; staff said the new archive reaches back about five months and that links to past meetings can be posted on the city website.
Commissioners did not vote on budget items at this meeting; the comments were informational and preparatory for the upcoming workshop.
