CRTPA ratifies TIP roll-forwards, adds four SunTrail projects to TIP

The amendments included roll-forward TIP entries for FDOT projects that did not receive authorization in the prior year, additional funding for Crawfordville Road and a new safety lighting project on West Tennessee Street between Enon Church Road and Blountstown Highway. CRTPA staff said the roll-forwards allow FDOT to proceed with authorization and implementation.
Why it matters: The action moves design and feasibility work onto the region’s approved programming documents so projects can proceed toward design, right-of-way and construction phases and — where federal funds are involved — be added to the State Transportation Improvement Program.
Details: CRTPA staff presented two grouped votes. The first vote ratified the roll-forward amendments and related project entries (item 6A). The board then approved resolution 2025-02-6B (item 6B) to add four regionally significant trail projects under the SunTrail program into the TIP. The SunTrail projects added were described by staff as: - US 90 in Gadsden County (Quincy to Chattahoochee) — feasibility study. - Ironbridge Road (Gadsden County) — move to design for the Tallahassee-to-Havana Trail segment. - Old Bainbridge Road to Orchard Pond Greenway Trailhead (Tallahassee-to-Havana Trail) — funded for PD&E. - Bloxham Cutoff Road Trail — additional design funding, including a mix of SU (urban-attributable) and SunTrails money.
Staff noted one of the SunTrail segments uses urban-attributable (SU) federal funds and therefore will require STIP action at the state level.
