CRA continues property-improvement grant for Waterway at Hollywood Beach condominium

The Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency on March 5 voted to continue consideration of a Property Improvement Program grant for the Waterway at Hollywood Beach Condominium Association.

Board Member Biederman moved to continue consideration of the item and Board Member Hernandez seconded; the board voted unanimously to continue the matter to the April CRA meeting. "Motion to continue," Board Member Biederman said during the meeting; after a second, Chair Levy called for the vote and the motion carried.

The association asked for the continuance while it completes a 40-year inspection certificate. Executive Director George told the board the association is pursuing the inspection and understands that any outstanding code issues or missing inspection documentation must be resolved before the CRA would disburse grant funds.

Board members who spoke during the item did not oppose the continuance. The board did not take any funding or substantive action at the March meeting; the item will return to the CRA agenda in April for further consideration, at which point staff said it will present the application and any updated supporting documentation for board review.

The board record shows the continuance was made at the association's request and that the CRA will withhold any reimbursement until required inspections and code issues are cleared.

Looking ahead, the CRA will reconsider the application at its April meeting after staff confirms the inspection certificate and that there are no outstanding code or permitting impediments to paying a grant.
