Assistant City Manager Barry Ma presented a replacement lease for a tenant at 205 South Culver Street (the converted house behind AutoZone) and said the city purchased the property a few years earlier. The proposed lease is three years in length and includes a six-month termination clause allowing either party to terminate the lease.
Councilmember Jocelyn, who said she lives on Culver Street, said she had no concerns about renewing the lease and noted the tenant had a prop car parked behind the property. Ma explained the vehicle is a prop associated with the tenant's motion-picture work; the tenant has been delayed in California and the car is in the process of being moved. Ma asked staff and council to be patient and to communicate with residents that the car will be moved.
Council members agreed to place the lease on the consent agenda for the Feb. 20 regular meeting. No objections or additional conditions were recorded during the work session.
The work session did not include a formal final vote on the lease; the matter was placed on the consent agenda of the regular meeting where the council is expected to consider it with the usual consent-item vote.
