Palm Bay planning board elects chair and vice chair; appointment to community development advisory board tabled to April 2

Board process and comments: Growth Management Director Lisa Frazier and Chief Deputy City Attorney Michael Rodriguez were present to advise the board on procedure. A board member asked that the appointment be delayed so newly seated Planning & Zoning members could attend a Community Development Advisory Board meeting and get a fuller view before making an appointment. City staff confirmed the existing vacancy does not create a quorum problem for the advisory board and that postponing the appointment would not be legally prohibited. After discussion the board agreed to table the appointment to its April 2 meeting.
The board also reviewed meeting procedures and the quasi‑judicial disclosure process for upcoming conditional‑use and development cases. Director Lisa Frazier and Principal Planner Tanya Ramos introduced planning staff and said staff would provide orientation and a vision‑plan workshop for newer members in a future meeting.
