Council hears report that planning commission revoked dance permit at Enigma center after police complaints

He said police records showed an elevated level of incidents — including underage drinking, drug deals and assaults — at weekly events that ran until about 2 a.m. The Planning Commission, after at least an hour-and-a-half meeting focused on the issue, decided to revoke the permit for those dances. According to the council report, the Enigma Center may still host other events but no longer has the permit for the late-night dances that prompted the police action.
Council members urged neighbors to attend Planning Commission meetings when public-safety concerns arise and thanked the residents and council representatives who attended and presented information to the planning body. No appeal or further action by the council was reported at the meeting.
