Public Works offers infrastructure tours; board seeks recorded slides and broader outreach for Building E presentation

City of Palm Bay Public Works staff offered board members guided tours of stormwater infrastructure and treatment features, and board members asked staff to explore options for capturing presentation slides when outside presenters appear before the board or Council.

Eric Blount, operations superintendent in public works, told the board staff can arrange individual rides or vehicle tours to show features such as baffle boxes, treatment trains and permeable pavement — municipal installations tied to the city’s MS4 stormwater program. Blount invited board members to email staff to set up tours on an individual basis so members can see existing infrastructure that relates to the action plan.

Separately, the board discussed an upcoming presentation by a guest presenter (scheduled for March) and asked staff whether the presentation slides could be recorded and included with the meeting record or posted to the city website. Members said the live web feed does not reliably display accompanying slide decks, and they suggested either attaching presentations to the meeting record or arranging a second camera/recording that captures the slides for later public use.

The board also discussed using video or photographic materials to showcase local projects (for example, Building E) at future outreach events and the planned sustainability fair, and asked staff to check whether filmed materials and slide decks can be made available to the public after presentations.
