- Consent agenda (Items 4A–4L): Motion to approve carried 5–0. The motion was moved by Commissioner Joseph A. Scudo and seconded; no items were pulled from consent.
- Police Retirement Plan Board: The commission moved and seconded a motion to remove one member and appoint a new member to the Police Retirement Plan Board. Motion by Commissioner Joseph A. Scudo, seconded by Commissioner Latoya S. Clark. The commission voted 5–0 to approve the appointment. City Manager Mark Lebowski explained the replacement was necessary after a member resigned prior to his vacation; commissioners expressed concern about last-minute addendums but voted to approve to ensure the board would be fully staffed ahead of its next meeting.
- Ordinance — Lease with Debbie Wasserman Schultz (first reading): The commission advanced a first-reading ordinance “approving a lease between the City of Sunrise and Debbie Wasserman Schultz for her congressional office,” finding a public purpose. Motion by Commissioner Joseph A. Scudo; seconded by Deputy Mayor Neil C. Kirch. The ordinance passed first reading on a 5–0 vote.
- City Attorney annual review and compensation adjustment: The commission completed the annual evaluation of City Attorney Thomas P. Moss and, by motion of Deputy Mayor Neil C. Kirch seconded by Commissioner Joseph A. Scudo, approved a 2.5% compensation adjustment for the city attorney consistent with prior practice. The motion carried 5–0.
Other procedural items: The commission moved certain items on the published agenda to be heard earlier in the meeting and approved sponsorship participation in the Broward League of Cities gala at a previously discussed level.
The commission recorded each of the above roll-call votes as unanimous (5–0). No items in this set of votes were tabled or continued; where members expressed reservations during discussion (notably about late addendum timing for the board appointment), the commission nonetheless approved the motions on the same evening.
