The Decatur County Area Plan Commission voted to approve APC petition 2025-3, allowing the subdivision of roughly 5 acres from a 72.4-acre parcel and rezoning about 2.99 acres from A1 to A2 to permit a single-family detached dwelling.
The applicant, identified in the record as Kobe Fernandez, said the proposal is to build a two-bedroom house with a single-car garage on a site north of 6869 South State Road 3, Greensburg, in Salt Creek Township. Fernandez told the commission there was an earlier dwelling on the property that was removed in the 1980s and that the existing driveway will continue to be used.
After a short exchange and no objections from adjoining property owners, the commission took a roll-call vote. Commissioners recorded in the transcript — Tom Hunter, Sheila Herkall, Paul Stone, Scott Smith, Tom Cherry and Upmeyer — voted yes. The commission staff advised the applicant to stay in contact with the area plan office for the remaining steps in the permitting and billing process.
The commission noted zoning authority for the request under Decatur County ordinances and closed the item after approval.
