The San Angelo City Council accepted petitions to annex two parcels in the Prestonwood area and set a public hearing for April 15, 2025.
Staff described the annexations as 9.712 acres and 7.12 acres in the Wilkie survey area west of Pendleton Parkway; the northern parcel will extend Trippington Way and the southern parcel will extend Pino Ridge Drive. Planning staff said preliminary plats already exist (preliminary plat adopted in 2021) and that detention basins and stormwater measures will be part of future final plats.
Councilmember Tommy moved to approve the petition for hearing; the motion passed 6–0. Staff said the annexation will trigger service-plan work and required notices. Councilmembers asked about nearby park access and green space; staff confirmed this action is annexation-only and that park-dedication and plat approvals will be considered separately when the final plat and development proposals return to planning commission and council.
The first public hearing was scheduled for April 15 so residents and property owners can comment on the annexation and related service plans.
