Planning panel approves replacement manufactured home in New Chester

The Adams County Planning and Zoning Committee on March 5 approved a conditional-use request allowing the replacement of a 1994 single-wide manufactured home with a 2010 single-wide manufactured home on a parcel at 25026 Drive in the Town of New Chester.
The request, submitted by Kenneth Gannett, asked under Section 40532(c) of the Adams County comprehensive zoning ordinance to replace the existing dwelling with a 16-by-76 2010 manufactured home. Gannett told the committee the photos in the packet show the home he plans to place: “That’s the one I’m putting there. That’s the new one. That’s the 02/2010,” he said.
County staff noted the Town of New Chester did not object to the application at its January meeting. After short discussion, a motion to approve the conditional use was made by Larry and seconded by John. The committee took a roll-call vote; recorded yes votes during the roll call include Corvillo, Nozell, Barood, MacReiner and Anne Gilmer. The chair stated the application had sufficient votes to pass and that the approval does not have to go before the full board.
There were no members of the public who spoke for or against the request during the hearing. The committee’s approval authorizes the replacement under the county’s zoning ordinance; staff did not identify additional conditions in the committee record.
