Twinsburg High School Orchestra honored for 13th consecutive OMEA superior rating; district earns 5-star report-card award

The Twinsburg Board of Education on March 5 presented a proclamation honoring the Twinsburg High School Orchestra and director Damon Khan after the orchestra earned a superior rating in Class A at the Ohio Music Education Association State Orchestra event.
Rhonda Crawford, board president, read the proclamation noting the orchestra's superior rating'the highest honor awarded by OMEA'and that the orchestra has received the recognition for the thirteenth consecutive year. The proclamation named Mr. Damon Khan (orchestra director) and Clare Jermuzick (assistant/coach referenced in the proclamation) and praised students, parents and booster volunteers for supporting the program.
Director Damon Khan accepted the proclamation and thanked the boosters and district leaders. Superintendent Catherine Powers praised the students and staff, noting she accompanied students to the OMEA event and expressing pride in the program.
Powers also read a letter the district received from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce congratulating the Twinsburg City School District for earning an overall five-star award on the 2023—2024 Ohio School District report card. The letter, signed by Steven D. Jacken, director, said the award recognizes academic achievement and student success; Powers said the district will receive a banner and presented it to the board.
The board and community members in attendance applauded the orchestra and boosters.
