The Arts, Parks, Library, and Entertainment Committee voted by voice to approve two consent items: a resolution accepting an in‑kind grant from the Sylvan Park Neighborhood Association for work at Richland Park, and an ordinance approving a greenway conservation easement for greenway improvements at 3028 Glenwood Drive.
The action was taken without public comment during the committee meeting; members indicated approval by saying “aye,” and no roll‑call tally was recorded. Vice Chair Voe presided.
The resolution, RS 2025‑1066, accepts an in‑kind grant from the Sylvan Park Neighborhood Association to the Metropolitan Government acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation to replace an existing Sylvan Park neighborhood site in Richland Park. The ordinance, BL 2025‑744, approves a greenway conservation easement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville, Inc., for greenway improvements at 3028 Glenwood Drive. Both items were moved to the consent calendar and approved on a single voice vote.
Committee members present included Council member Gad, Council member Bradford, Council member Cap, Council member Easelock and Council member Welsh; several members were absent. Parks Department staff member Kevin Road identified himself on the record during the meeting: “My name is Kevin Road, and I work for the Parks Department.” Road and the committee discussed scheduling for broader briefings from Parks staff.
Committee members said the department’s “state of the parks” briefing is expected within about a month, and that the department’s separate “plan to play” effort is still several months away and will include community meetings. Those briefings were described as informational; no formal direction, budget action or additional votes on those briefings were recorded in this meeting.
With the consent items adopted and no further public comment, the committee moved and seconded adjournment.
