Terra Nova student Napoleon Kalim Lim named Jefferson Union student of the month

Terra Nova High School student Napoleon Kalim Lim was recognized by the Jefferson Union board as the district’s student of the month for January for leadership in band, academics and community service.
Napoleon Kalim Lim, a Terra Nova High School student involved in band, anime club and community service programs, was recognized as the Jefferson Union High School District student of the month for January.
The Terra Nova presenter described Napoleon as a student who "exemplifies dedication, leadership and generosity in every way," noting his enrollment in rigorous coursework and plans to major in chemical engineering. The presenter said Napoleon has been accepted to San Jose State University, UC Merced and San Francisco State University and that he plans to attend San Jose State.
The recognition highlighted Napoleon’s role as drum major for the Terra Nova band, his work teaching drumline to middle school students through a Bridge Team program and volunteer contributions at community events including Fog Fest and the Cherry Blossom Festival in San Francisco. The presenter added that Napoleon helps classmates with coursework and assists student journalists with design and editing.
Napoleon thanked his family, friends and community when he spoke, saying he was "honored to receive this award" and that community support has amplified his service. Board members and student representatives offered congratulations from the dais and during the public portion of the ceremony.
The district’s student-of-the-month recognition program selects one nominee from each school to be honored at a board meeting.
