Noah Peterson of the Legislative Services Office briefed the committee on the Department of Correction’s Community Corrections Division budget for FY 2026. Peterson said enhancements include annualization of personnel costs for positions at the Pocatello Community Reentry Center, general inflation, and replacement items.
Peterson explained that 17 positions had been appropriated for only six months in FY 2025, and enhancement item 7 would fund the other six months of salary and benefits to annualize those positions. The analyst listed inflation and replacement‑items costs included in the request.
Representative Manmure moved the enhancement package and the motion was seconded by Senator Wintrow. The clerk recorded the joint committee vote as 16 ayes, 3 nays and 1 absent and excused; the chair announced the motion passed and the package will go forward with a do‑pass recommendation.
Committee materials and the clerk’s motion showed the requested amounts as an additional $116,200 from the general fund and $2,350,800 from dedicated funds for a total of $2,467,000 for FY 2026.
