JFAC approves $1.06 million supplemental for state prisons' body‑worn camera pilot

Noah Peterson, a budget policy analyst with the Legislative Services Office, briefed JFAC on a supplemental appropriation for the Department of Correction’s State Prisons Division to start a federally funded body‑worn camera pilot.

Peterson said the appropriation covers the federal grant award and a small general‑fund match. He described the item as “year 1 of that pilot program” and said federal funds would cover the majority of the award, with the state providing a match in later budgets.
