Council members reported March 4 that an art gallery installed in the City Hall hallway will host rotating exhibits organized by the Temple Terrace Arts Council; the first exhibit in March–April features artist and educator Amina Khan.
Council member Chambers described Khan’s background (art educator, public‑muralist and Universal Academy of Florida teacher) and asked residents to visit the display. The council also heard a report from the city ppointed representative to the Hillsborough County Arts Council outlining three grant programs: cultural development (recently awarded), community arts (application cycle opens March 10, awards recommended in June) and professional development for arts (application cycle opens July 7, recommendations in September). Staff urged local nonprofits and event organizers to review application criteria on the Hillsborough County website and consider applying during the listed cycles.
No formal votes were taken. Council members encouraged local organizations to pursue county grant funding and notified residents about the City Hall exhibit.
