The Committee of the Whole recorded and voted on a series of committee actions on March 3 that will either take effect or be forwarded to the regular board meeting schedule as required by district rules. The following motions were approved by voice vote during the meeting (all recorded as approved in committee):
- Acceptance of gifts, grants and bequests received in February 2025. The administration recommended approval and the committee voted in favor. (Motion carried by voice vote.)
- Annual donation to the District Superior Scholarship Foundation Incorporated Student Activities Fund in the amount of $1,000. Administration recommended approval and the committee approved the donation.
- Approval of the March 2025 new hires and separations report. The committee approved forwarding the personnel report as recommended by administration.
- Release of Jennifer L., early childhood education teacher, from her 2024-25 contract effective Feb. 25, 2025, with the district enforcing the liquidated-damages provision. Motion approved.
- Release of Mark Johnson, special education teacher at Superior High School, from his 2024-25 contract effective March 7, 2025, with the liquidated-damages provision enforced. Motion approved.
- Approval of an overnight field trip request for the Northland senior retreat. The committee voted to approve the overnight trip.
- First reading of policy 5771 (search and seizure) based on NEOLA recommendations. The committee approved the first reading after administrators explained how searches and SRO coordination work in practice.
Most motions carried by voice vote with no recorded opposition in the Committee of the Whole. Where times and dates were specified in the motions (for example, contract-release effective dates and the $1,000 donation amount), the committee included those specifics in its approvals. Several items presented in committee were informational and will be tracked for future board action.
