The county was asked to consider contributing the balance of the roughly $10,000 cost after the fire district pledged $4,000 and the school pledged $3,000.
County staff indicated the sign would not be installed through the county roads program because it is on a state highway, but staff — including Mike and Sean — said they had other funding options and could assist. “It won't be through our Roads program, but Sean has some other options too for funding,” one staff member said.
Commissioners asked staff to take contact details and follow up with the fire district and school to finalize funding and installation logistics. No formal funding commitment or vote was made at the meeting; staff will relay the contact name and pursue funding options.
