Commission approves February minutes, a five-year school joint-use renewal and names two public-art committee members

At its March 3 meeting the Safety Harbor City Commission approved its consent agenda and filled two public-art committee seats.
The commission voted 5-0 to approve the February 17 meeting minutes and to approve a five-year renewal of a joint-use facilities agreement with the Pinellas County School Board. No public speakers pulled either consent item for discussion.
On new business the commission appointed Heather Richardson as a regular member of the Public Art Committee and Mina Kiernan as the alternate member. The motions to appoint passed unanimously, 5-0.
In ceremonial business the commission issued several proclamations during the meeting: a recognition for Andrea Norwood on her retirement after 30 years with the city (the proclamation text scheduled a recognition date), a proclamation recognizing Athens Restaurant's 45th anniversary and naming March 3, 2025 as Athens Restaurant Day in the city, and a proclamation declaring March 2025 as Flood Awareness Month/Week to promote awareness of flood risk and the National Flood Insurance Program. Those proclamations were read and presented but did not require separate votes recorded in the minutes.
No other formal motions were adopted during the March 3 meeting.
