Board Member Crossett developed the tool; board discussion and administration edits produced minor changes before the vote. Superintendent Murphy said the instrument pairs a mathematical scoring component based on the district report card with a subjective section that can be quantified, and it aligns with district goals and guardrails. The parties also amended the first instructional goal to move a third-grade reading target from 2027 up to 2025 and reduced the target to reflect that the metric now covers a one‑year period.
After brief discussion, Treasurer Wagner moved to adopt the tool on the board floor. The board recorded a roll-call vote in which all voting members present approved the adoption: Board Member Craig — yes; Board Member Crossett — yes; Board Member Lindy — yes; Board Member Weinberg — yes; Vice President Bolton — yes; President Moffitt — yes. The motion carried.
Board members discussed timing for check‑ins; the tool as adopted calls for one check‑in in the final half of the year rather than two. Superintendent Murphy noted the evaluation may also incorporate Ohio standards for superintendents.
The board did not attach an annual timeline for releasing the evaluation results during the meeting; administration and the evaluation working group will operationalize scoring and any reporting dates.
