The Wichita County Commissioners Court voted 3-0 on March 4 to engage Brad Liddickin of Proven Surveying to assist the county in procuring a parcel of land adjoining the county yard near the Electra tower.
County officials said the work is limited to a single, specific parcel related to the county’s communications tower at Electra and is not a continuing contract. Commissioners said they prefer a simple written agreement that spells out the scope and rates before survey work begins.
During discussion, a county official noted Liddickin previously prepared easements and legal descriptions for tower sites in 2023. The county judge asked whether a formal agreement already exists; commissioners and staff agreed a short agreement would be preferable for this one project. A staff member said Liddickin has completed previous work remotely from his office and could provide estimates of the parcel size and legal description.
Commissioner Beecham made the motion to engage Proven Surveying; Commissioner Watts seconded. The motion passed on a voice vote with the county judge and two commissioners saying "aye," recorded as 3-0 in favor.
