Council approves first reading of transportation plan, several construction agreements and budget updates

Klamath Falls City Council on March 3 introduced an ordinance for first reading to adopt the 2025 Klamath Falls Urban Area Transportation System Plan and approved multiple cooperative agreements with the Air National Guard, a consultant contract with Jacobs Engineering, a supplemental budget amendment and a second/final-reading city-code amendment. The council also authorized a third amendment to a disposition and development agreement for downtown redevelopment.

The council voted by voice to accept the planning commission’s recommended findings and to introduce the TSP ordinance for first reading. City staff presented the plan as a 20-year vision for multimodal facilities across the urban growth boundary and said the update compiles prior planning work and identifies projects and potential funding strategies.

Separately, the council authorized modification No. 2 to a military construction cooperative agreement (MCCA) for Hangar 219 in the amount of $187,500 and authorized a facility sustainment, restoration and modernization cooperative agreement (FSRMCA) for aircraft maintenance Unit B216.
