Vinita Utilities Authority accepts audit; superintendent reports manhole rehabilitation work underway

The Vinita Utilities Authority on March 4 accepted the 2022–23 audit prepared by Ober and Littlefield, CPA, and heard a brief superintendent report describing ongoing manhole rehabilitation work.
Superintendent Smith told the authority that crews are coating and rehabbing several manholes — some constructed of brick and some concrete — to reduce stormwater infiltration into the sewer system and lessen the load on treatment plants. Smith said the crew had worked on manholes that ranged from about 4 feet to as deep as 15 feet and that the initial set of work measured about 70 feet of rehabilitation; he said a final count was not yet available.
Smith said he will provide a flash drive with photos and video of the completed work when the contractor finishes. The authority voted to accept the 2022–23 audit on a motion and second; no deficiencies were recorded in the audit, staff said.
The authority adjourned after accepting the audit and receiving the operations update.
