At its reorganization meeting, the Lynbrook Union Free School District Board of Education swore in newly elected trustees and approved key appointments including Paul Lynch as superintendent, Theresa Moran as district clerk and Linda Gillespie as treasurer; the board also approved a package of reorganization resolutions.
The Lynbrook Union Free School District Board of Education held its annual reorganization meeting and regular monthly meeting, swearing in trustees and approving key district appointments and reorganization resolutions.
Trustees and officers were sworn in at the start of the meeting. Leslie DiNino was sworn in as president of the board; Sean Murray was sworn in as vice president; Tara Aragona was sworn in as secretary; Jackson Bowler was sworn in as the ex officio student board member. The board then approved a slate of officers and appointments for the coming year.
By motion and voice vote the board appointed Theresa Moran as district clerk (motion mover: Miss Kelly; second: Mr. Cohen), Paul Lynch as superintendent (motion mover: Mr. Luna; second: Miss Saragona), Deborah Sabara as assistant district clerk (motion mover: Mr. Murray; second: Mr. Pulaski) with the oath to be administered at a later time, and Linda Gillespie as treasurer (motion mover: Miss Aragona; second: Mr. Cullen). Members voted to approve a consent package of reorganization resolutions identified as 25-07-R10 through R69. The board accepted the consent agenda and then moved from the reorganization meeting into its regular monthly meeting.
The board also approved routine minutes from prior meetings. A motion to accept the minutes of the June 11 monthly meeting passed; when the board voted to accept the minutes of the June 27 work session one member announced an abstention during the roll call on that item (the transcript records an abstention but does not name the member).
The board accepted donations: $1,000 from the South Shore Community Chest for a family of a student who attends district schools, and a step-and-repeat backdrop valued at $1,450 from the high school PTA for use at school events.
The board set its next regular meeting for Aug. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Atlantic Avenue Boardroom.
For transparency and public access, the board also authorized distribution of reorganization materials and attachments via the district website and signed up for automated alerts when minutes and agendas are posted.
