The Goldendale City Council approved multiple administrative agreements, set public hearings and authorized a lodging-tax award during its regular meeting.
The council authorized the mayor to execute an interlocal agreement for district court services and a separate interlocal agreement to accept Surface Transportation Program (STP) traded dollars from Klickitat County. Councilmembers heard that the STP funding is made available to jurisdictions when the county expends certain federally funded transportation projects; the traded funds are restricted to transportation improvement purposes. Staff said the STP distribution varies with project activity and reported no change to the allocation formula from the prior year.
Councilmembers also approved holding public hearings for proposed parking changes on East Collins (hearing set for April 7) and West Broadway (hearing set for April 21) and received a staff briefing on DOT sign-approval requirements. Finally, the council approved a lodging-tax award of $3,900 to support a car-club show after the Events Committee recommended the award; the council voted to fund the application as presented.
Votes at a glance: the council passed all motions on the agenda by voice vote.
Ending: Staff will return to the council with signed interlocal agreements, public-hearing materials and any required DOT responses; funding for the car-show will be disbursed according to lodging-tax procedures.
