"You're going to be receiving a lot of communication from me," Krenz said, listing legislative updates, national education news and items that he believes should inform board direction. He added he will share the same information with principals and cabinet members to keep leadership aligned.
Board members who spoke during the meeting thanked Krenz for stepping in during the transition and said they would move forward with a phased search process for a permanent superintendent. The board scheduled a Friday meeting at 2 p.m. to begin formal work on the full-time superintendent search and said employees-of-the-month recognition will be moved to the February meeting.
The board approved the meeting agenda and consent items by voice vote. The consent-item motion passed with an announced partial abstention by Member Mary Jo; the transcript did not specify which line item Mary Jo abstained from.
