Macomb Township trustees approve road design, water‑and‑sewer CIP, HVAC extension and demolition contract increase

The Macomb Township Board of Trustees on Feb. 26 approved several routine and project items affecting roads, utilities, building services and a demolition contract amendment.

Key approvals included: professional design services for the Broughton Road Extension (23½ Mile Road to 25 Mile Road) in the amount of $874,230; the township’s fiscal‑year 2026 Water and Sewer five‑year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP); a one‑year HVAC services contract extension with Cy Energy Engineering for $48,343; an encroachment/easement agreement to replace the MA01 meter and PRV chamber at a property owned by St. Peter’s Lutheran Church; a special event permit for the Dunwood Garden Center spring open house (proposed signage April 1–May 26); and a $12,000 contract modification to Oakwood Building Company, Inc., for the demolition of the house at 19975 23 Mile Road after unexpected asbestos was found.

The Broughton Road Extension design work is the second phase of the township’s project; the board previously approved survey and right‑of‑way preparation.
