The council renewed a lease that allows Rise Broadband to place equipment on the city's Emergency Management Tower east of town. City staff said the renewal adjusts lease payments to $650 per month for the tower space; the council approved the renewal on a roll-call vote.
Emergency management staff requested permission to conduct a full system test of the city siren system on Saturday, March 15, 2025. Staff outlined the planned test as a roughly 20‑minute sequence that will include an air horn tone, a full three‑minute tornado warning tone and a hazard material release tone; staff said the test would be completed by about 1:20 p.m. and recommended public notice in the newspaper, on Facebook and on the city website. The council approved the test.
