District administrators provided a construction update at the March 4 committee meeting, describing multiple completed and in-progress renovation areas at the secondary campus, including a new high-school gym, updated auditorium with new sound and lighting systems, an auxiliary gym/mat room used for PE and wrestling, a new weight room, and a student cafe (referred to as "Deja Brew").
Presenters said gray areas in the display slides represent previously completed construction and highlighted the new high-school gym (yellow on the slide) that they expect to be finished by the end of the summer. They said the media center and science areas are scheduled for summer work, with the front (Ten's) hallway scheduled to be completed by early next school year, barring delay. Administrators told the board that some areas were turned over ahead of schedule and that the district is "probably one of the very few, if not the only district that's either on or ahead of schedule with renovations and work."
The presentation included an invitation to the community to attend an upcoming school play to see the new auditorium and reminded stakeholders that weekly parent communications and photographs have been posted to district channels. District staff credited coordination with the renovation contractor and subcontractors for keeping the project on pace.
No formal board action was taken on construction during the meeting; the update was presented for information and community awareness.
