The council approved a resolution authorizing the city administrator to negotiate and execute agreements with vendors to implement Project Genesis, the city’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) modernization effort. Bob Ford, the city’s chief financial officer, and Jim Holman of Cherry Beckert summarized a multi‑month RFP, demo and evaluation process that produced a single recommended solution.
Ford said the city issued an RFP and received nine responses; three were disqualified for failing to meet criteria and six were evaluated. Holman said the project used a “bottom‑up” RFP process that solicited input from staff across departments to ensure the solution fit operational needs. After demonstrations, staff and Cherry Beckert narrowed the field to two finalists — Sage Intacct and NetSuite — and recommended Sage Intacct based on its fit with the city’s requirements, particularly payroll processing and utility billing.
Holman said the recommended approach emphasizes cloud‑based, API‑friendly systems designed to scale with city growth and improve reporting, analytics and financial transparency. Council thanked staff for the procurement work; the resolution authorizing negotiation and execution with Sage Intacct and named implementation partners (Kerr Consulting, Continental Utility Solutions, ADP) passed on an immediate unanimous vote.
