Council hears first readings to correct scrivener’s errors in two prior right‑of‑way vacations

The city presented two companion first readings (Bill 25-08 and Bill 25-09) to amend prior right‑of‑way vacation ordinances that contained scrivener's errors in their legal descriptions.
Chris Taber, principal planner, explained that the earlier vacations (approved as Ordinances 24‑58 and 24‑59) vacated right‑of‑way along East Greentree Street in Wilson's Valley Phase 1 and Phase 2. Taber said a surveyor's legal description contained a material error (a scrivener's error), so state publication and notice requirements required the city to reprocess the item and replace the old legal descriptions with corrected text.
Council asked no substantive questions and there were no public comments; both items were read on first reading and advanced with unanimous recorded votes. Staff reminded the council that these are first readings and asked that council members contact staff with any questions before the second reading.
