Commission discusses offering training to other agencies after EEOC ‘train-the-trainer’ request

She said the proposal could proceed informally — allowing outside staff to attend training sessions remotely — unless the commission preferred to place the matter on a future agenda for formal action.
Several commissioners expressed support for sharing training opportunities where appropriate. One commissioner suggested the commission could coordinate monthly or quarterly outreach and education events in partnership with other agencies to multiply limited resources.
The director also referenced a prior September 2024 training at the River Center organized with the state league and noted that commissioners historically had seldom attended monthly lead meetings; going forward the league is proposing monthly trainings for staff and commissioners and coordinated outreach across agencies.
