Victoria Epson, Princeton’s tourism director, briefed the council on upcoming events, enforcement of local lodging remittance and logistics for summer street concerts.
Epson said Princeton Restaurant Weekend runs Thursday, March 6 through Sunday, March 9; the tourism website lists participating restaurants and special menus at princetontourism.org/restaurant-weekend. The tourism office also added a “Sip and Savor Beyond the Plate” section to spotlight non-restaurant businesses.
Epson told the council that the street‑concert committee has planned the 2025 series one block south between Park Avenue East and Marion Street because Main and Peru Street may undergo construction; concert dates listed were June 20, July 18, Aug. 8, Sept. 4 and Oct. 11 (or Oct. 18). She said all businesses had been notified and the committee meets monthly, with a vendor meeting this Friday.
On lodging remittance, Epson said the city’s partnership with Azovar and LocalGov has increased compliance: she reported one Airbnb payer last year and nine remitters now, and said staff plan an ordinance update in April to improve compliance with the hotel‑motel tax.
Epson also noted Princeton will host the Amtrak Corridor Coalition quarterly meeting this Friday at 11 a.m. at Wild Ginger; Mayor Mabry will welcome attendees and staff will present the Hornbaker Gardens project at the depot.
Council members asked several logistical questions (event time and RSVP process); Epson said she would circulate RSVP lists to council members.
