Foothill Boulevard) City Planner Mark Carnahan told the commission the applicant sought a 12-month extension for a previously approved two-story, 9,500-square-foot medical office building (original approval: PLN22-0044) because permits and construction did not commence before the approval’s expiration date. Staff recommended approval of a 12-month extension; if granted the extension would run to March 5, 2026 (extension file PLN250004). Commissioner Cost moved to approve the extension; Commissioner Davis seconded. The motion carried 5-0.

2024 General Plan annual progress report and Housing Element implementation Senior Planner Lena Siva summarized the state-required annual progress report on the general plan and the housing element implementation report for calendar year 2024. Siva said the city completed the Community Plan 2025 general plan update in February 2007, that the housing element was approved by the California Department of Housing and Community Development in August 2023, and that the city must file its annual progress reports with the City Council and state by April 1. The report records building permits, entitlements and completed units: staff reported that during the reporting period the city entitled a total of 60 housing units, permitted 51 single-family homes and 80 accessory dwelling and multifamily units were in development (as described in the staff report). The commission voted to receive and file the reports by unanimous vote.
