The request was presented by Ken Malcolm, director of community development/downtown development and tourism for the City of Covington, and Pastor Willie Davis, who described planned daytime and evening events and the addition this year of fireworks. "One of the events ... is the Juneteenth celebration, to occur on June 14 of this year," Malcolm told the board. Pastor Davis added that "the fireworks, the parade that morning ... the fireworks will climax the evening," and that organizers planned activities for children and adults.
