Board approves 2025 police-detail waivers for multiple venues, strikes two pending applicants

The Taunton City Board of License Commissioners approved its 2025 list of waivers of police-detail requirements for a set of local venues and struck two applicants from the list pending additional information.
Licensing staff read the list of waiver requests the board considered, which included (as read into the record) Home Plate (1094 Bay Street); Italian Social Club (2 Columbus Boulevard); Tartan Eagles Club (29 Oak Street); Tartan Lodge of Elks (775 John Quincy Adams Road); Solin Mexico Bar & Grill (1013 County Street); Holy Ghost of East Taunton; Polish American Civic Club; Italian Naturalization Club; Totten Sports Club; Seguignza Country Club; Deep Pond Farm and Stable; Mariachi (various addresses); Brax in Taunton (2097 Bay Street); and others listed in the board record.
The board moved to strike Sherwood Entertainment LLC and Barbecue Integrated from the waiver list because Sherwood had not submitted the required request and Barbecue Integrated did not have live entertainment. Commissioners discussed adding a note to the New Ward 5 waiver saying that if the licensee expects attendance greater than 100 she must notify the police detail desk; that amendment was included in the motion.
The motion to approve the waiver list with that amendment passed by voice vote. Commissioners directed staff to follow up with applicants who had not provided required paperwork and to notify the police detail desk of the Ward 5 condition.
