The Police and License subcommittee met Jan. 15 to interview candidates for police officer openings and recommended that the municipal council forward offers of employment to four candidates who completed background checks, subject to conditions set by the police chief and to availability of funding.
The subcommittee recorded the names of four candidates to forward for confirmation: Jonathan DeRosa, Paul Korrar, Sadad Small, and Matthew Latrineo (name read as pronounced in the public record). A fifth candidate on the civil-service list, Lisonbee Sanha, is currently deployed; the subcommittee recommended holding that candidate’s appointment pending return from deployment.
The subcommittee’s recommendation was recorded and approved for placement on the council roll-call list for confirmation. The council subsequently recorded the list “as read” during the roll-call portion of the meeting and the motion to forward the candidates passed according to the minutes; the minutes note that the appointments remain subject to funding and successful completion of all required conditions, including background checks.
