The board’s elections staff member said they reviewed two draft formats and that version 2 — the version presented at the meeting with the cover letter — was more applicable to the situation. Allison, an elections staff member, asked that after the third paragraph a typographical correction be made and that the bullet about lost votes be added. Board members discussed formatting and the risk that the cover letter and resolution might separate if not submitted together, and directed staff to number the pages so the packet would be received as a single document.
Board members confirmed the package will be sent to the county commissioners, the state superintendent’s office, and the county’s legislative delegation; staff named recipients including the commissioner of supportive education, Senator Burvey, and Representative Pike and Penny during the meeting. The board approved the draft with the requested edits and asked staff to ensure all four pages are transmitted together.
The vote to approve the cover letter and resolution, as amended, was recorded as in favor; the board did not record any “no” votes in the meeting transcript.
The board also asked staff to correct a minor typographical error on the first page before transmission. Staff said they would make the edits and that the final packet would be distributed to the named recipients.
