Jessica Cook, city staff member, recommended awarding the contract for emergency vehicle lighting to Alabama Upfitters at $19,715 per vehicle. The council approved the contract.
Kathy (city staff member) presented budget amendment number 13, which she said provides funding to purchase two lifts for the outdoor pools and install fencing around the natatorium HVAC system; the total amendment amount was $20,500 and will come from the park improvement fund. The council adopted the amendment.
Cathy Chambers told the council an ordinance approving the use of the city’s electronic vote counters is required by the secretary of state’s office for the August election; the council voted to adopt the ordinance and approved use of the same equipment used by the county.
Mike Putman presented a request to place 10th‑anniversary Main Street sidewalk stickers downtown; he said the product is a slip‑resistant material designed for steps and treads and supplied locations for placement downtown. The council approved the decals.
