Resident urges review of alleged failed police investigation and building inspections; mayor offers to discuss

A resident who identified himself in the meeting as Mr. Culler told the Cary Village Board on March 4 that he had reported what he described as a "failed police investigation for felony fraud, for forgery," and said a building permit related to his case was invalid and required inspections had not been done properly.
"I've been in here dealing with frauds, scammers, and a criminal complaint that won't get looked at," Mr. Culler said. He said he submitted an email to the village on Jan. 20 and had not received a substantive response: "I did. Submitted the email. January 20. No response. Oh, I got an email back that said, we'll get back to you."
The mayor invited the resident to speak further at the microphone and offered to discuss the matter privately: "If you'd like to call me, I would be happy to discuss it," the mayor said. When asked by a trustee whether the mayor had spoken with the state's attorney about the matter, the mayor replied, "Yes." No board motion or formal action related to the resident's allegations was recorded at the meeting.
Mr. Culler closed his remarks by stressing his view that he was the victim and that he had sought help from the village without success: "I'm not the bad guy here. I'm the victim. I came here looking for help. That's what I get. Nada."
