A sponsor addressed the committee regarding Senate Bill 1095 and announced the bill would be laid over, citing disputes among stakeholders and what the sponsor called “gross business practices.”
“I have been made aware that there has been some quite honestly, gross business practices. And so I just wanted to let you all know that I am going to lay this bill over,” the sponsor said. The sponsor added that they had intended to work with stakeholders and strike title but now want additional time to resolve concerns, and warned against pressuring committee members.
The chair acknowledged the request and announced Senate Bill 1095 is laid over. No formal votes on the underlying policy were taken during the hearing, and the sponsor said they would reconvene stakeholders to try to address the issues before returning the bill to committee.
