A committee member addressed recent news coverage about the Heritage Gallery, saying the planned replacement work is intended to refresh exhibits and does not cancel the current honorees.
Speaking during Old Business at the DuPage County Public Works Committee meeting on March 4, 2025, a member said, “So it's not canceling the current honorees. It's refreshing to and bridges bringing in a separate exhibit.” The speaker framed the gallery change as a routine museum practice, saying no museum is “stagnant for 40 years.”
The committee announced a special call of the Public Works Committee at 1 p.m. April 1, 2025, in Room 3500B for a presentation and focus group on the Heritage Gallery replacement project. All county board members were invited to participate in person or via Zoom; the meeting would be available afterward on the county’s YouTube page and the public could participate in an online survey.
Ending The comment closed the Old Business portion of the meeting. The committee scheduled the special call to allow broader board and public input on the gallery replacement project.
