City staff outlines Envision CR annual update and timeline for council adoption

Adam (filling in for Betsy Borchard) summarized the annual update process for Envision CR, the city’s comprehensive plan originally adopted in 2015. He said staff review two elements each year and update maps, narratives and action-step status in coordination with city departments to keep the plan current and aligned with council priorities.
This year’s updates covered GrowCR and ConnectCR, including updates to the future land-use map and the fixed-route bus service map. Adam said staff meet with departments to review initiative status and timelines, and that the annual update helps departments coordinate, hold themselves accountable, and align work with council goals. Jennifer (staff) added that council priorities are now included on agenda cover sheets to clarify linkages between council goals and staff initiatives.
Adam said the approval timeline includes Planning Commission review on Feb. 6, Development Committee review, and City Council consideration on Feb. 25. Staff plan an open-house event to share information and gather public feedback.
