Council backs new citizens academy to explain city operations, recruit volunteers

Staff said an online sign-up form and media alert will be distributed soon and department heads will be scheduled for the sessions. Council members reacted positively and encouraged outreach to boards, commissions and local businesses. No fee will be charged and council approved moving forward with the outreach and registration plan.
