Riverside council approves three resolutions including traffic-signal design and park pump track

Riverside City Council voted unanimously by voice to approve three resolutions during its March 3, 2025 meeting, moving forward on a state-design partnership for a traffic signal, a small community event donation and a park amenity.

The measures: a resolution to enter a design agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation for traffic-signal work at the Beatrice and Harshman intersection; a $100 municipal donation to the Bob Childs Classic; and acceptance of the lowest and best bid for a modular pump track at Warr Park.

City staff described the Beatrice/Harshman item as the preliminary design step ODOT requires before a final legislative approval; construction award was estimated for mid-2026. The Bob Childs Classic request is a $100 annual donation; council noted the city’s name appears among sponsors. On the park project, staff said Parks and Recreation selected a modular pump track design intended to fit an existing concrete pad and to serve entry-level through mid-level riders. Staff said delivery is expected in May with installation in June.
