Representative Dale Hawkins introduced RS 32553 to require districts to post lists of the K–3 curriculum materials they use. Representative Mathias asked whether the goal could be met by adding the word “website” to existing code (noting 33-3512 alpha was already in statute), and Hawkins said they believed a standalone approach was the best path. Representative Ehart moved to introduce RS 32553 and said similar transparency efforts exist in other states and “I think it adds a lot of transparency and information for the parents.”
